The date in the caption is incorrect. The "Pat" went into Alaska cruising starting in the spring of 1963, and from then on her hull was painted white down to a green, and later red waterline. The black-and-white paint scheme served from her 1949 arrival through to the 1962 summer when she operated jointly with sister Princess Marguerite between Seattle and Victoria during the World's Fair.
